 "Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite." President Dwight Eisenhower's Farewell Address to the Nation, Jan. 17, 1961.

That caution by Eisenhower about the Scientific-Technological-Elite, came from his "Military Industrial Complex" speech.  That Elite against whom he cautioned, has become in the Twenty-First Century, the Scientistic Dictatorship Elite - a political arm and tool of the power structure commonly called, "Globalism" previously called The New World Order, as announced by George Herbert Walker Bush, championed by such diverse people as Nancy Pelosi and Newt Ginghrich, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Mitt Romney and Barrack Obama.

I would like to say first that Father Thomas Hopko has forgotten more Orthodox Sacred Theology, Church History and Patristics than I will ever know.  I've admired some of his public lectures over the years, so I was intrigued that in retirement, the Dean Emeritus of Saint Vladimirs Orthodox Seminary would be interested in studying the natural sciences and taking a new look at Darwinism and Science and how it relates to Christianity.  Frankly if the Debate would be between REAL Science and REAL Christianity there would be little to debate.  Since Real Empirical Scientific observation has disproved the major assertions of Darwin to a degree of certitude any layman can grasp, just upon the complexity of a single cell. A single cell, is not a glob of protoplasm but a complex structure with millions of interdependent parts, stored and used information held in it's D.N.A. and R.N.A. and other information holding molecules.  Biology on the nano-level asks the Question, From Whence Information? Because without the programming contained in a single cell no other forms of life would be possible.

(At the end of my own studies of SCIENCE, Real empirical SCIENCE, I have come to the conclusion that Fr Tom's perceptions of the state of Science is very naive. He does not comprehend either the Cultural Marxist use of modern FAKE Science, nor the goals and methods of Scientism, which are more propaganda than science, nor the extreme advances in Scientific Technology that threatens humanity itself. - A realistic assessment of the state of Evolutionary "Science" and the massive advancement of the technological BEAST." )


So, rather than just listening to Father Hopko's lectures, I will write companion observations, since this area has been an interest of mine for many decades.

I assume Father Tom, by the core beliefs he holds, has been an honest student of science. His comparison will not be of some generic "christianity" to "Darwin." It will be a real look at the Bible for what it actually is, and not any of the later fundamentalist views of it.  Faith and Science are not mutually exclusive and Christian Faith and Science have much to say to one another, and in fact when taken honestly shed light each upon the other. The key thought is "taken honestly."

There has been a massive explosion in biblical knowledge in the last two hundred years corresponding with the explosion of knowledge in natural sciences. Yet, we see conclusions drawn from this increased knowledge, both in theology and science that are "theory and doctrine" instead of empirical fact and knowledge. In both areas these theories and ideas tend to express opinions based in a mindset and cultural dialectic that is foreign to the subjects and artifacts examined.  Yet these theories and dogmas are taught as if they are fact.

Just as the tools of 19th century "source criticism" shed new and exciting light upon the texts of the Bible, especially upon the reality of the Jesus of history, we saw people like Adolf von Harnack take the evidence and interpret it in a way that fit his own 19th century benevolent humanism, instead of the Christian Faith. He actually turned Jesus into an idealized form of himself. We see this trend continued. It is a natural limitation of human reason, called "pride."    Harnack was quickly replaced by other interpreters using new tools, which shed new light, yet again causing interpretation upon their own prejudices. Risa Aslan is a noted example, a bible scholar who is a Muslim by birth, an Evangelical Christian for a period, only to stumble upon contradictions of Biblical Literalism, now as an ex-evangelical, having re-embraced his Muslim birth religion, he finds Jesus very uncomfortable to him, so he writes a supposedly scholarly piece relegating the historical Jesus of the Bible to virtual non-existence. The expressions of the prejudice of pridefully held preconceived notions are too clear.  The same is true in various schools of natural science, even though most common scientists would not like to admit it. This is well documented in the book by the Secular Agnostic, David Berlinski, "The Devil's Delusion" a book I highly recommend. It forms the underpinning of Ben Stein's movie, "Expelled." 

Knowing the political motivation of the Cultural Marxist, Globalist Utopian Seekers of which the Sceintistic Dictatorship Elite are an integral and primary influential component, (a history of influence that goes back centuries) I have huge concerns about the devolution of Education,[LINK} where the extreme materialist model, the Behaviorist Conditioning of B.F. Skinner has supplanted philosophy, the humanities, and social sciences which previously held a moral imperative and had a clear history. Now every aspect of the same is "spun" for effect, even fictionalized for the brainwashing of the masses. My concern about Evolutionary Theory has not been so much the conversation based upon the dichotomy between evolution and Biblical interpretations, most of which has been truly silly, ignorant of both the science and the biblical reality, or even the dichotomy between religion in general and science, which, in all truth, could mean anything. I believe that this dichotomy is always the result of ignorance or deception and sometimes both.  I'm of the radical opinion which would shock most Christians that there is no dichotomy between Christian Ontology and True and Real Science. If taken honestly they both witness different aspects of the same thing. 

Religionists, just as theologians, have "territory to protect," sadly, so do scientists and science in general that owns its existence to corporate wealth and government largess. The intersection of corporate control and government control too easily becomes fascists. Too many scientists in this materialistic, moral relativistic and nihilistic culture, simply choose greed and function as the puppets of the Fascists. Why not, there are little consequences for skewing data or even inventing it, as we saw with the East Anglia crew, those top climatologists, simply "creating their own data from whole cloth, with no correlation to reality, to things as they are." More and more science has been about advancement in bureaucracies, garnering endowments, grants, achieving wealth, prestige, power, and manipulation of the population for the Elites. The truly sick and genocidal side of this monstrosity are the scientists and doctors who whore for big-pharma. In the last half of the 20th century till the present, the system has devolved into a redistribution of wealth upon an international and dishonest, crony-capitalist/socialist model, a new kind of highly sophisticated Fascism.  It is this politicization of science by the Progressivists and NeoCons of the last 70 years, (and probably much longer) pushing the comprehension of "things as they are" to an extreme materialistic understanding via means that are corrupt and dishonest that causes me to study, to speak, to write, to debunk. Frankly this dishonest, agenda-driven research and doctrinaire conclusions drawn, reaches into biblical research as surely as it does natural science.  Do I reject both. Heaven forbid!  But as science is influenced by world views and social philosophy so is greater Christendom as represented by competing denominations, and the overarching heresy of Ecumenism, and the interpretation of Biblical Text, for socio-political progressivist and fundamentalist agendas.

Great knowledge has been uncovered in both areas, science and the bible (including a huge increase in the grasp of related early non-biblical documents.) It is not the knowledge uncovered nor even the conclusions drawn, or even the doctrines postulated upon the conclusions, that trouble me; it is the promotion of agenda driven conclusions as FACT, where I draw the line. 

My understanding of ontology, that branch of metaphysics that deals with the nature of being, precludes the possibility of dealing with Darwinism or even evolution upon the basis of mere "natural science." Since "natural science" is a subset of ontology, and without consideration of every disciplinary subset, the whole cannot be viewed.  To look at "evolution" and "evolutionary" tendencies in isolation, in a subset called "Darwinism" or "Evolutionism" is like taking the position of one of the blind men, relating the properties of an elephant. One, grasping his leg says, "he is a tree trunk, covered in leather," and another grasping his tail says, "he is a rope," another grasping his trunk says, "he is a huge and powerful snake," etc.

My interest in Ontology (the nature of Being) springs from early curiosity about the anomalous things that are rejected by the "accepted dogmatic science" of each generation. A dogmatism in each generation that holds up its deformed models and says, "this is absolute truth."  There are some absolute truths in science, but few of its theories will not be amended, some rejected and replaced all together, even some of the most sacredly held and universality believed axiom of present day modern science will UTTERLY fail and fall into the dust bin of history.  This is an absolute FACT. In any decade of my life science is represented by relative truth produced upon part of the facts, since it continually ignores the anomalous data, the tedious little things that simply will not fit into the theory and mythology. If the anomalous data is examined at all, most times the explanations usually raise more questions than they answer. As we have seen in recent discoveries and observations of cosmology, even now the foundations of our view of the nature of the entire universe is crumbling under the feet of the common humanist model, as offered and popularized by Carl Sagan. This skepticism on my part didn't spring from biblical literalism or really anything to do with religion or Christianity, but rather from the work of Charles Fort. Charles Hoy Fort (August 6, 1874 – May 3, 1932) was an American writer and researcher into anomalous phenomena. Today, the terms Fortean and Forteana are used to characterize various such phenomena. Fort literally lived in the New York Public Library, recording all the reports from around the world that would not fit scientific orthodoxy of his day. So many of the things he recorded was considered myth and superstition in his day, which have been proved fact in the decades since.  In fact the list of anomalous date is far greater now, even though so many things have been discovered and so many things explained. By the way, Fort's book sold well and is still in print today. 

Darwin's research was taken in Nature. He compiled a massive collection of "specimens."  This was admirable work and the work of that massive collection of specimen I truly appreciate and respect. But he took these and concocted a story, based upon an emerging mythology of his time.  After all evolutionary theory wasn't new, his own Grandfather taught a form of it.  So Darwin bowed to socio-pressures of his day and chose to step outside what could be proved, what was existential and created a mythology, an explanation of life and creatures without a creator. Fort was quite the opposite. For years Fort read news papers, medical, naturalist and scientific journals, taking notes on all the things that did not fit the accepted scientific orthodoxy of his day. He was the first of a long line of "observers" who through both academic research and objective examination of scientific "data" cataloged the anomalous data, some of which to this day challenges scientific orthodoxy.

What I know is from both my experience, the experience of others, and evidence exposed by others, smarter and better educated. When orthodox science was telling the story of "gradual development" I read some 15 years after its publication the book "Worlds In Collision" by a Russian academic named Immanuel Velikovsky. I looked around me, especially in the geological formations in the Smokey Mountains, and Appalachian Foothills, and found his explanation more persuasive than the geological mythology of those days. Turns out Velikovsky was right and all the contemporary geologist were working on a false model. His later book, written after he was crucified by the academic establishment, "Mankind in Amnesia" simply rang true to me. The fall of man from an "idyllic" state to the fear driven state that seems to be the underlying consciousness of mankind today seemed to me obvious and self evident.  Steve Parson writing about David Talbott's work and Talbott's interpretation of  Velokovsky said, "Velikovsky understood the way by which an individual suppresses the painful memory of trauma in the psyche.  He reasoned that the entire human race has collectively suppressed the trauma of its expulsion from the womb-like golden time. Yet that suppressed trauma keeps expressing itself as human violence and alienation. We accept the background pain as a normal state of existence, because that's what everyone had always felt, going back as far as anybody can remember.  But Velikovsky would say that this state is not 'normal'.  We collectively suffer a distorted view of life because of this greatest of all traumas, when the Time of Perfect Virtue (as the Chinese call it) came to a cold and bitter end."  (From Forbidden History pg 67).  

My ontology is summed up by Lao Tsu and Saint John the Theologian. There is huge evidence that much of the most ancient artwork and "language" recorded by ancient humans simply does not depict the world we know today. Look for instance at the anomaly of the Mayan Calendar. It codifies an accurate knowledge of astronomy, far more sophisticated than anyone just a few years ago would have understood or been willing to admit, though the "evidence" was clear.  Why this prejudice? Because for political-power reasons, Native North, Central and South Americans needed to be viewed as unintelligent savages. Nothing else would justify their conquest and genocide. So the Mayan Calendar was anomalous to contemporary mythology and so was simply dismissed. Yet, with this sophisticated astrological knowledge the Mayan's yearly cycle contained fewer days than the present calendar? What could this mean? Did the earth rotate on its axis slower than today? Was the revolution of the earth shorter and the world closer to the sun than today? Or was it both? It seems only logical to me that it was one of the three.  You see, I find it impossible to believe that the Mayans with sophisticated knowledge of astronomy would have miscalculated something so fundamental? I think it recorded accurately something that was or had been different.

Back to that statement, "the Time of Perfect Virtue." Note that in the New Testament most times when Jesus performed what we have dubbed "miracles" it could be accurately translated, "virtuous act" or "acts filled with the power of virtue."  Jesus' acts that seemed to "break out of natural law" were instead acts that were "powerfully in harmony with the original virtuous power of Being." Being is a wonder in itself, and strains TO BE, as all life strains to live.  At present, this struggle for life is against massive powers of chaos, decay and death. We all know this. We all feel this. Evolution, whatever truth it may hold, is a simplistic mythology, a convenient tale.  More and more as I age and read the writings, the scriptures, the Bible (and some other ancient texts) with less prejudice, and less religion, I see in them far more truth than the common western interpretations are able to support.  Yet layer upon layer there it is in the texts, a cosmology far more complete, far more sophisticated than Biblical literalists can grasp, since they interpret in a most unbiblical fashion.

Classical Darwinism depended on the concept of "gradualism," that is, minute changes in chemical forms that formed by some unknown mutual attraction which against all odds became "alive." Then primitive biological forms making minute changes over vast periods of time, gradually developing.  Gradualism depended upon another concept which was disproved by Velikovsky called, "Uniformitarianism." Without a uniform universe, and more importantly a uniform environment upon earth, providing for eons upon eons of eons of time, gradualism is impossible. However much time may be viewed in the Genesis narrative, Genesis depicts violent events, the sudden appearance of BEING, the unexplained appearance of light, massive winds and powers, creating first a "chaos."  No way that anyone could view the Genesis narrative as "Uniformitarianism." Rather it is chaotic at the whim of a creator. It was Aristotle's cosmology that controlled the thoughts of the theologians and scientist in the west, upon which they based their uniformitarianism. At the time of Darwin, no one believed that the earth had endured any sort of wild or disorderly past. The mythology of Uniformitarianism gave Darwin the field upon which to plant his Gradualism.

The ontology of Lao Tsu and more importantly the ontology of Saint John the Theologian support a more sophisticated and plausible narrative of the history of BEING than is held by western theology, science, philosophy and sadly a more accurate depiction than is supported by some of the Eastern Orthodox fathers.  So, to compare "Christianity" vs "Darwinism" if Christianity is the REAL Christianity and not some truncated version of Western making, or some scholasticized medieval deformity, the Darwinists and indeed the modern evolutionists in general enter the debate unarmed.  

Having what were questions in my youth, turned to faith in my twenties, turned to knowledge in my thirties, (via my healing experience of Christ). It became rock solid high grade granite knowledge in my forties and has steadily become more clear to me over time. There is a power of emanating force that is the driver of BEING. (I wrote this before the Higgs Boson particle was discovered, or rather proved to exist, which proves my hypothesis, since this particle commonly called "the God Particle" is an entryway into three dimensional space time, for energy from another dimension.) 

Let us step back and think further about the "Time of Perfect Virtue."  Lao Tsu wrote, "Hence, when The Way was lost there was virtue." The Way preceded virtue, what could he mean by The Way?  "when virtue was lost there was benevolence; when benevolence was lost there was rectitude; when rectitude was lost there were the rites.  The rites are the wearing thin of loyalty and good faith and the beginning of disorder; Foreknowledge is the flowery embellishment of The Way, and the beginning of folly."  I love that last sentence since without prophecy and eschatology, there is no consciousness of God. At least no consciousness of a God above the level of a self-serving deity of tribesmen, who controls the fate of the tribe by giving and withdrawing "blessings"; certainly no creator of all, who is in all. In my Ontology, it is Christ on the Cross who came not to reestablish "the Time of Perfect Virtue" but to re-construct and make walkable for any who can grasp it The Way of SOZO - healing/salvation and ultimately the restoration of ALL THINGS.  True Christianity is concrete, existing in BEING, and not about ephemeral "floatly places" and salvation of "souls" but about the Ontological Restoration of man and ALL THINGS. And the breadth and width of that Cross is Universes Large, Trillions upon Trillion of times outside our capacity to imagine. Physical, not ephemeral, literal and not mystical.

So, having stated what I KNOW, and having come to Orthodoxy in middle life, without the privileged of the Orthodox foundations of Father Tom, I thought that instead of just listening to Father Tom's series and then writing about it that I would first, challenge my own Orthodox formations, layout my own conclusions as to the validity of Evolution and then as I listen to the series, one lecture at a time, compare and contrast. Maybe learn something - hopefully. I wrote a short paper on this subject thirty years ago and another fifteen years ago and another recently. It Takes Courage To Seek Only What Is Real

I have so far offered speculation, opinion. Before we begin listening to Father Tom's tapes I would like to offer one lesson, to set the stage for the contemplation of evolution.

I want to first expose the use of propaganda on the part of evolutionists. Understanding that evolution is "political" is very, very important to the discussion. Like the nineteenth century theologians using "source criticism" discovered some amazing facts, ultimately the conclusion they drew upon those facts were merely a picture of their wishful thinking. In other words they took facts, that is provable truths and turned them into fanciful theory. They had position, power, wealth, status etc. to protect. Like the Global Warming scientists who claim in vain that they are not political, the politics is obvious. I wish that modern politics was expressed by advocates, honestly arguing the merit of their positions. But nothing could be further from the truth. Modern politics seeks to take humanity in a direction that is "dehumanizing," a direction any normal, healthy, self-respecting human being would not want to go. So honest advocacy is out and propaganda is in. Pay close attention to this first little lesson, because I believe it is the bases upon which the rest of this presentation has to be viewed. That is, with a willingness to accept all facts, and with great skepticism upon the doctrines created by those facts.

Below is depicted one of the simply amazing stumbling blocks of the evolution theory, one of many hundreds and maybe many thousands. It is a Bacterial Flagellar Motor. It is a complex mechanism, an actual rotary motor. (Think biology and think mechanics and engineering, combined.) Well, the human body is that, biology and engineering, with a bone structure, a frame of struts and levers and a heart that is a pump etc., but read on . . . The point is this little miracle of biology defies and voids Biological Evolution as taught by Darwin and all the other evolutionist since. Why? "Natural Selection" another name for Evolution has always been based upon the idea of (1) Life Springing into being from a "chemical source" called from the beginning, Primordial Ooze. (2) primitive life then naturally (without rational explanation, much less explication) selecting (morphing into) higher forms over eons of time. It is a picture of a constant metamorphosis of slight modifications, adaptations in an unconscious way, or maybe even a willful way, straining for higher and higher forms of life. The picture is life springing from primordial ooze, finding the right chemicals that suddenly like magic begin to live and become life. However, ALL science is mute to explain this highly complex motor, with a complex design that has existed in nature for eons. In fact it is only in recent times that man had scientific instruments capable of discovering this complex little biological motor. And the design is actually something that science presently hopes to replicate, but so far has not. To realize the scale of what you are seeing, it would take approximately eight million of these little powerful motors to create a string of them the size of a cross section of human hair.

This bacterium is able to move by use of an internal flagellum. A molecular motor rotates the flagellum enabling the entire bacteria to gyrate and move through liquid. The motor is made from 25 different proteins and spins at 300 revolutions per second. (By 2005 Geneticists had observed Flagellar motors operating at near 100,000 RPM 'rotations per minute').  It comprises of a ring shaped torque generator, known as a stator, a central rotor and a rod that turns the flagellum. Molecular motors could one day be built into artificial nanotechnology. Published in Nature, 442, 1062-1064.  Further it is self assembled and self repaired, a water-cooled rotary engine driven by proton motive force. It has two gears forward and two gears reverse. At top speed it can reverse motion within one quarter turn. It is hard-wired to a signal transduction system with a short term memory. It has by objective experiment proved its ability of self protection using the same function, moving toward favorable conditions and moving away from threats.

Those teaching intelligent design use this little motor (and many other like complexities) to argue for the idea of, "Irreducible Complexity".  Saying in effect, it could not know its function until it was fully formed, and it could not survive to "evolve into its complexity" unless fully formed in the first place.

This animation of the flagellum motor is true and honest but simplistic.  For those with faith to recognize the intelligence of The Creator this reasonable presentation would be enough. But enter the spirit of the liar, capable of The Big Lie, confusion and obfuscation, that is the propaganda to which we mentioned above.

Trust me when I tell you that what you just watched is very sophisticated propaganda. Why would scientists need propaganda? Consider the sophistication of this short video, the cost of the actors, the set, the taping, the writers - all this expense to suck you into a vulnerable state of mind and then drop a hypnotic rock of doubt upon your psyche. 

I have included this 9.35 minute rejection of the idea of  intelligent design and irreducible complexity to openly share the strongest argument against it.  I also what to make a point about the immorality and mental laziness of the people arguing on the side of evolution. (Now, I know many of these people are sincere and nice people, not realizing that their methods are lazy and thus immoral.) Question: Does an axle look like a rod, look like a bar, look like a needle, look like a tube, look like a cylinder, look like a pipe, look like a club, look like an arrow, look like a royal scepter? Well yes, but are they very different things, compose of different materials, with different possible uses?  Yes, they are.  Here these supposed scientists us "visual approximation" and "chemical kinship" as proof of progressive evolution.  As a visual artist the first approximation is laughable. So let us laugh a moment:

Is this a fuzzy little prick or perhaps the family pet or both?

There are a million things that look like a million things on every scale of BEING, which are or can be very, even totally different. Haven't we seen the images from Hubble telescope of the massive Galaxies that look like a fried egg with with yoke? a cylinder? a flower? an arm? and on and on, not to mention the billions of things on earth that resemble each other. Speaking of the flow of images coming from Hubble, where is the uniformity?  What is seen is rather chaos, beautiful, creative, expressive, original, no two looking alike, diverse, chaos. The look of the universe has more visual kinship with a synaptic discharge than with anything that could remotely be called, uniform. 

As for the second, that is the chemical similarity:  what is more similar with effects less similar than H2O = water and H2O2 = Hydrogen Peroxide? Only one atom different in the molecule. The plague bacteria and the rotary motor have less kinship since several of the needed proteins are missing in the plague "needle" and it has no "motive" or real moving parts. It is a sack, the other is a highly sophisticated rotary motor!

Take the time to listen to an imminent geneticist and see if this little rotary motor can FIT the Darwinist, primordial ooze mythology. His explications are without "faith" but ARE constructed of empirical evidence. That is "reproducible existential evidence" and NOT theory. If you have doubts as to the idiocy of Darwinism and the ideas of selective metamorphosis and inert chemicals into LIFE . . .if you do not understand a word about genetics . . .watch anyway and realize that this fellow is either the most talented actor this world has ever produced, OR, what he is saying is true, or at least he thoroughly believes it to be true, and provable via "reproducible empirical evidence." That quality of "reproduction" is very important, that evidence may be reproduced by different people holding different prejudices. And then if you want to understand the crucifixion of anyone daring to tell the truth inside the modern "Church of Darwin," google this fellow and witness his crucifixion.

Lecture by Dr. Scott Minnich - UC Santa Barbara 2005

Drawing on his ten years of experience in working with bacteria as a geneticist, Dr. Minnich gives a thorough explication of the "irreducibly complex" nature of the bacterial flagellum. He explains this phrase that was coined by Michael Behe, and argues that the irreducibly complex construction of the bacterial flagellum is an outstanding case for an intelligent designer.

Notice please that this little complex motor exists on the "nano-level" and in biological form, eight million of which it would take to cross a "cross section of human hair." Now you grasp the minute aspect, yet it contains an on board computer with short term memory. This memory (reasoning) makes it capacity to move towards LIFE, and away from death! This little being, with the aid of this sophisticated motor struggles in the chaos, staving off death, intelligently and with the knowledge it takes to be itself.  Meaning it is ALIVE, with the intelligence God has given it. Next to this intelligent complexity the mythology of primordial ooze is simply laughable.

Consider please, it is one thing to postulate that higher organic forms are produced by the accidental cooperation of lower organic forms over eons of time, which has been the major evolutionary hypothesis. As humans we are such a form. But a complex, perfect, and primary organic form on the nano-level, not constructed of other biological forms, but complete unto itself by the amalgam of twenty some odd proteins, is untenable in the evolutionary paradigm, yet here the little motor is, a rebuke to an over reaching of science. As hard as it may be to believe, since so much conditioning has gone into convincing the population that evolution is science based, evolution as is commonly taught (a substitute for a creator) is seen to be, without scientific basis. You can't pull the foundation from under an edifice and claim the edifice has a right or ability to continue to stand.

Are there true things taught in the "science" of evolution. At this point truthfully, I'm not sure. It is true that the hands-on sister sciences (technologies) have opened huge doors for us, some of them quite hopeful and of course at the same time quite frightening. Biology, Molecular Biology, Archeology, Anthropology, Nano-science, and on and on, contextual existential knowledge is gained. However, it quite simply will no longer fit into the "evolutionary box." 

Vehicles for Belief

So using the past tense, If evolution was not "science" what was it?

It is merely a vehicle for belief. It is an unproven theory; (and I now say thoroughly disproved mythology) a culturally produced theory, produced by a culture in need of a history to explain life and the origin of man, without a creator. 

Why would such a theory be needed? 

Because, at the time of the Renaissance, so many in the Enlightenment Movement had lost faith in God. Their loss of faith wasn't a result of their scientific discoveries that at the time, in their primitive science, seemed to lack the need of a Creator, as is often suggested; rather their faith was destroyed by the ignorance of the Roman Catholic Church's centuries of narrow-rationalism applied to holy scripture and the natural sciences called “Scholasticism” which deciphered scripture by literal-rational means and limited scientific discovery to its own narrow Scholastic paradigm. Since the observation and experience of “things as they are” exposed so many of the foolish superstitions created by ignorant churchmen of the dark ages and arrogant Scholastics of pre-Renaissance, the Enlightenment crowd did not grasp that the errors and ignorance of churchmen created a distorted ICON of God and nature. That deformed ICON could not inspire faith in an intelligent person who had been exposed to the "facts" of natural science that would not fit into the church's conception of God. So they concluded that God must not be real and He was relegated to the category of superstition and mere mythology. Faith was lost and for all practical purposes the discussion was closed. At the time it was deadly to try to correct a churchman. The era had grown so hellishly dark that dialogue in a meaningful way with the churchmen risked losing fortune and possibly being burned as a heretic. The easy route was to place one's head down, move into the shadows, reject the Church and its God or at least try to. As the movement gained strength and the technological possibilities began to so rapidly open, the wisdom of science over Christianity seemed obvious to many good and reasonable men. 

However, it wasn't until the vehicle for disbelief was constructed by Darwin that the Renaissance man was relieved of his massive self-doubts for a period and felt justified in the comprehensive pagan mythology of Darwin's Origin of Species. Today we have a situation that is almost identical but reversed. Today it is the ignorance of the Enlightenment's Religion called "Evolution" that is exposed as the grand ignorance of the era. And now it is the people of faith (the newly re-enlightened people of faith - not religion mind you) who recognize both the ignorance and superstitions of the Scholastics, and the ignorance and superstitions of the Enlightenment Movement. So with this context we see that the clear difference between creationism and evolution is not "science" but whether one chooses to explain BEING and the origin of things "with or without" a creator. It is that simple. Neither is provable (via positiva) via philosophy or science, yet only one can be debunked (via positiva) by actual and factual evidence and ( via negativa )  by what cannot be known.

The subatomic sub-particle energy-laden-fabric of BEING, certainly suggests the energy of “intelligent thought.” And this suggestion has become exponentially more clear as man has explored the realm of the infinitesimal and the infinite. Mathematical genius Georg Cantor a hundred years ago pressed his mind to the discovery of infinity and discovered one infinity is merely enveloped inside the next infinity, which is enveloped inside the next infinity, which he proved conclusively via mathematics. His theories were laughed at or kindly dismiss then, but not any more. The physicists on the other hand through the measurements of infinitesimal energies, the collision of particles, that aren't really particles at all, but systems of energy holding yet smaller systems of energy . . . those physicists have not yet, but are on the verge of proving that each infinitesimal energy is merely a composition of yet more infinitesimal energy-laden-fabric. The complexity of BEING and LIFE defies any silly 19th century "enlightened model."

The truth is, at this point in time, it takes a person nearly totally ignorant of the parameters of modern ontology not to know that the vast multidimensional reality of BEING suggests a creative intelligence of such complexity that to say 'that genius' is a gazillions degrees beyond man would be an understatement of eternal proportions. Not beyond what we may contemplate mind you, and communicate, but beyond what we may comprehend. So to say, creation via a creator has significant suggestion just in the nature of the creation itself is a most reasonable statement by many measures. Even those physicists who say that intelligent design is not confirmed, must say it is all but irrefutable. Evolution (i.e. creation without a creator) suggests that this multiform, multidimensional complexity, from chaos to organizational systems, which support BEING and spontaneously produce life is accomplished by a standard of randomness which the systems themselves cannot support. The premise is unreasonable by many degrees and easily refutable.

What is absolutely mind bending is the fact that advanced technology existed in nature, and its complexity precludes its accidental forming by some "will" to survive, or some "natural selection." The flagellar motor is complex enough that were any particular part not perfectly formed it would have no expression as a motor. One cannot even posture as to what necessity of natural selection would cause the first unworkable stage, that would then "will itself" into the second unworkable stage, that would then "will itself" into the next unworkable stage until all twenty-five proteins had been selected and suddenly formed into perfectly formed-fitted movable, powerful working parts, creating momentum and directional change modern man hasn't come close to reproducing in a motor. What engineering feet it would take to create a rotary motor capable of tens of thousands of RPMs capable of reversing course in one quarter of a revolution! How are the laws of centrifugal force overcome, momentum, kinetic energy preserved, inertia overcome in a nano-second? Any engineer looking at this mechanism knows what he is seeing and any biologist/evolutionist who does not grasp the feat of design and engineering is simply lost in an "ideology" of Evolutionism and has long since given up the discipline of True Science. 

So I can state my understanding of Darwin vs Christianity in one sentence. Two systems of belief, one which explains creation by a creator, which cannot be disproved; the other which explains creation without a creator, which is easily debunked. We may be totally ignorant of the reality of the creator, totally ignorant of every aspect of his nature and being (I'm not saying we are) but it is impossible not to see his hand as Saint Paul said, "In the things that are made." This tiny little motor being merely one minuscule aspect of BEING.

But I still have not expressed my grasp of the nature of being. I want to be clear as to my position. I can state my grasp of the nature of BEING simply:

I honestly believe that the Creative Eternal Word's economy with BEING is so intimate and so natural that he courses existence into being, nano-second by nano-second . . . well, nano-second by nano-second to the power of infinity squared.
